Co-Chairs: Linda Page, Mike Zwell
The purpose of the GSAEC Academic Standards Committee is to identify and establish an internationally accepted body of knowledge for the profession of coaching that can guide coaching education and coach educators. The first edition of Academic Standards that serve as benchmarks for GSAEC's coach education program recognition was published in 2018. The Committee works closely with GSAEC's Research Committee to update the Standards in light of global research and developments in how coaching education is conducted, and with the Coaching Program Evaluation committee to translate the Academic Standards into meaningful review metrics for the Institutional Recognition process.

The mission of the Coaching Program Evaluation Committee (CPEC) is to certify graduate university programs in coaching education. The overarching goal of the committee is to support coaching program directors as they bring their graduate university coaching programs into alignment with the GSAEC standards. The committee stewards the Institutional Recognition program and process by collaborating with the Academic Standards Committee to ensure the assessment rubric is correctly calibrated, overseeing the review process for institutions seeking Recognition, and assisting with related communications projects.

The purpose of GSAEC's Conference Committee is to plan, coordinate and develop the professional development programs for its members who are coach educators, coach practitioners and coaching students. The bi-annual international conference is one of the many events held by GSAEC that are designed specifically to meet the professional development needs of GSAEC members, and to provide a space for the advancement of education in coaching through an exchange of ideas, mutual support and deeper engagement of the coach education community. The GSAEC Conference Committee is responsible for all facets of the program, including topics, schedule, and speakers in coordination with the GSAEC Board and Committee Co-Chairs and Conference Committee volunteers.

The GSEC Credential Committee was formed to develop and implement a new coaching credential for graduates of coach education programs that have been recognized by GSAEC as meeting our Academic Standards. Ongoing work of the committee includes monitoring and promoting the GSEC Credential program; establishing and promoting a digital badging system to honor recipients of credentials; and determining and overseeing the administration of the GSEC Credential program.

The purpose of the GSAEC Marketing and Communications Committee is to 1) determine the strategic imperatives and tactics that will support the achievement of the mission and vision of the organization and 2) design and deliver compelling messages to key constituents to generate energy for and loyalty to the organization’s mission, ideals, and efforts. Many types of activities support those directives, including (but not limited to): identifying and reaching key partners and audiences; designing specific ways to deliver success for the organization; evaluating the impact of efforts; ensuring sufficient financial resources to continue moving forward on organizational objectives; building awareness and showcasing the value of GSAEC partnership with institutions, coach educators, coaches, volunteers, and supporters

The Membership Committee cooperates with the GSAEC Board and other Committees to provide information on matters of membership recruitment and retention. The committee is responsible for: identifying the needs of members and recommending the development of services to meet those needs; increasing Membership and recommending means for increasing GSAEC’s membership base; providing prospective and current members information about resources, services, and membership benefits of GSAEC; welcoming New Members and recommending ways to acknowledge new members and to encourage participation in GSAEC activities, as well as conducting welcoming activities.

The Research Committee's role is to facilitate and advance research that supports the GSAEC standards for the coaching profession and graduate-level coaching education. The committee supports fellow committee members and the broader GSAEC community in developing as scholar-practitioners in the fields of coaching and coaching education; recommends updates to GSAEC standards based on latest research findings; identifies areas for needed research to advance the coaching profession and graduate-level coaching education; develops the annotated bibliography of recent research of interest to GSAEC members; and organizes and facilitates GSAEC's Coaching Education Communities of Practice to encourage networking, exploring best practices, and sharing research interests in coaching and coaching education.
MEMBERSHIPGSAEC membership is open to academic institutions, individuals and students who constitute a community united in the establishment and promotion of a common knowledge base for executive and organization coaching. This includes institutions and individuals who are conducting and disseminating research to expand this knowledge base and defining curricula standards for graduate-level education in coaching. |
