GSAEC Coaching PROGRAM Recognition

Our Program Recognition program is an opportunity for qualified graduate-level coaching programs to undergo a rigorous peer review and recognition process to verify that they meet or exceed our Academic Standards. Institutions may achieve Program Recognition by undergoing a rigorous peer-review process in which their operations are evaluated against the GSAEC Academic Standards.

Over the last 15 years, GSAEC has developed the most comprehensive set of Academic Standards for graduate-level Coaching Education programs. Backed by, built on, and under constant review against the latest emergent research, the GSAEC Academic Standards includes standards for institutional accreditation, coach training, coaching supervision, program administration, curriculum, theory and knowledge, and more.

WHY GET RECOGNIZED?

Programs that successfully complete the evaluation process will become a GSAEC Recognized Program, and their graduates will be eligible to apply for the prestigious Graduate School Educated Coach (GSEC) credential.

Benefits to Your Program:

  • Communicate to the world that your program has been independently verified to be of the highest standard of quality regarding both coach training and coaching education
  • Include GSAEC Recognized Program status on any promotional materials for your program and institution with secure digital badging, verified by Credly
  • All graduates of GSAEC Recognized Programs (beginning from a retroactive cutoff date determined during the review process) are eligible for the Graduate School Educated Coach (GSEC) Credential - the only credential in the coaching field that directly recognizes scholar-practitioner status
  • The peer review process helps ensure your coaching program is grounded in the best available evidence from research and practice, provides a benchmark to compare your program against the highest quality coaching education and training, and  helps strengthen your coaching program by identifying opportunities for improvement and building on established strengths
  • GSAEC Program Recognition also grants one year of membership status as a GSAEC Member Institution , including all the rights and privileges thereof

HOW DO I BECOME RECOGNIZED?

The Recognition process begins with a kickoff meeting with the GSAEC Review Team. Following the kick-off meeting, applicants undergo a period of guided self-study, assembling insights and materials about their program with help and direction from GSAEC; once all materials have been gathered, they're submitted for review. Once the Review Team has completed their initial review, another meeting with the applicant will be held to discuss findings, ask clarifying questions, and identify any areas for further investigation or revision.

If your institution is already a GSAEC Member Institution:

  • Pay a non-refundable application fee of $1,000 USD
  • Submit your program materials to begin the peer-review process
  • Communicate with the review team as necessary throughout the review process
  • Make necessary revisions, finalize review, and receive recognition

If your institution is not yet a GSAEC Member Institution:

  • Pay a non-refundable application fee of $3,000 USD (Includes first year of GSAEC Membership upon approval of Recognized Institution)
  • Submit your program materials to begin the peer-review process
  • Communicate with the review team as necessary throughout the review process
  • Make necessary revisions, finalize review, and receive recognition
